Song of a Jewish Cowboy

18 minutes, English/Yiddish w/English subtitles, 2002

Scott Gerber, an unlikely mix of Yiddish and cowboy cultures, learned Yiddish and progressive songs from his mother and grandmother. A descendant of the left wing Petaluma chicken ranchers, Scott carries on the Yiddish and ranching traditions and proudly works in agriculture today. He rides the range and sings cowboy and Yiddish songs at Simcha Sunday and at an Irish bar.

And he's looking to meet a nice Jewish girl...

An intimate portrait of someone who bridges two very different worlds.
